The Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 2F DC was thrilled to host our 2024 Annual Scholarship Fundraiser Lunch aboard the gorgeous Spirit of Washington Brunch Cruise! It was an unforgettable afternoon on the water dedicated to celebrating education, community, and the bright futures of our next generation.
Guided by the timeless words of Martin Luther King, Jr.—“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically”—this annual gathering brings together community leaders, students, and families to foster powerful connections and raise vital funds for future academic pursuits.
Celebrating Our 2024 Honorees
A massive congratulations goes out to this year’s exceptional scholarship recipients and awardees! Your hard work, dedication, and character embody everything Lodge 2F DC stands for.
- Scholarship Recipients: Melia Grace & Alexandra Rodriguez
- FOP Presidential Award Recipients: Latasha Murphy & Carletta [Last Name]
Seeing our community’s young minds and dedicated leaders recognized surrounded by family and peers was the absolute highlight of the cruise.
Inspirational Guest Speaker: Mr. Eddie Mallard
We were deeply honored to welcome Mr. Eddie Mallard as our keynote guest speaker for the afternoon. A native of Ludowici, Georgia, and a proud U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Mallard brought a wealth of wisdom to our attendees. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree and a lifetime of leadership experience, his words on resilience, service, and the power of higher education left everyone on board feeling deeply inspired.
